Meditation Classes

Begin your week with stillness, presence, and a deeper connection to self at Flourish Sanctuary’s Monday Morning Meditation. Led by Jagad, this weekly offering is a gentle yet profound opportunity to explore a wide range of meditation techniques in a nurturing, nature-rich environment.

Each class begins around 10:45am, with lifts available from the Nimbin Town Hall at 10:30am for those needing transport. We finish at 12:30pm, with time for tea, questions and quiet reflection afterward.

Meditation offers countless benefits: it reduces stress and anxiety, improves focus and emotional balance, supports better sleep, and deepens self-awareness. Over time, it can transform your relationship to thoughts and emotions, helping you respond to life with greater clarity, compassion, and resilience.

Whether you're just beginning or have a long-standing practice, you’ll find something here to support your journey. Jagad draws on decades of experience to tailor each session to the needs of the group, offering a variety of practices including:
  • Mindfulness of Breathing
  • Dynamic Meditations
  • Loving-Kindness (Metta) Practice
  • Insight (Vipassana) Techniques
  • Yoga Nidra
  • Somatic and Body-Based Awareness Meditations.

We also explore the foundations of good posture, clearing the mind, managing distractions, and occasionally touch on Siddhis—the subtle capacities that can arise through advanced practice.

Classes are offered by donation—a gift economy model that welcomes all, regardless of financial means.

Set in the peaceful surrounds of Flourish Sanctuary, this class offers more than just meditation. It’s a weekly opportunity to recalibrate, find clarity, and return to what matters most. Come sit with us. Breathe. Rest. Awaken.

Flourish Sanctuary exists primarily to serve the people of our community. To date, we have proudly not taken any government grants or corporate money and are totally independently funded. Everybody who works on the property is an unpaid volunteer apart from our cleaner, but they do get to live on this sacred land. Black Sheep Farm and Compassion Temple are operated by volunteers of Flourish Sanctuary. Our purpose is people, not profits.
