Spirit of the Festival

Dear Friends,

Thank you for joining us as we embark on this extraordinary journey, where every contribution, no matter how big or small, has the power to create ripples of positive change, leaving an enduring mark on hearts and minds.

The Festival for World Peace extends a heartfelt invitation to all volunteers, facilitators and performers alike. As stewards of this transformative journey, we are committed to holding the intention to "cultivate a space where unique talents and contributions are not only valued but celebrated". Our festival thrives on a commitment to fair energetic exchange, ensuring that the energy you invest is reciprocated with gratitude, respect, and an opportunity to be an integral part of a movement dedicated to peace and unity.

What is the Festival for World Peace?

Core Values (P.E.A.C.E.)

The Festival for World Peace is a holding space for a transformative journey towards inner and global harmony, uniting a diverse community in a shared vision of peace. Rooted in the rich legacy of Nimbin's commitment to world peace, we invite families and people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds to come. Through transformative movement, music, dance, and spiritual activities and community learning the festival will cultivate a space for personal growth, mindfulness, and positive change.
Together, we are on a collective journey, fostering a world where unity, compassion, and peace flourish.

Why now?

Running the Festival for World Peace now is both timely and crucial given the current global landscape. As the world faces challenges and uncertainties, there is a growing need for spaces that foster unity, connection, and inner peace. The festival serves as a timely response to this need, providing an opportunity for individuals to come together, share experiences, and collectively contribute to a more harmonious world.

The core message is one of inclusivity, emphasising that peace begins within oneself, resonates through communities, and has the power to transcend geographical boundaries and create a ripple of peace that travels far and wide. We intend
the festival to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, encouraging attendees to be agents of positive change in a world where balance and harmony is becoming increasingly important.
  1. Peace: The Festival for World Peace places the utmost importance on cultivating inner peace and fostering a collective atmosphere of tranquillity, promoting harmony for attendees attendees body, mind and spirit with the intent that these positive changes this will ripple out to the wider world.
  2. Environmental Stewardship: Grounded in the natural beauty of Nimbin, the festival is committed to environmental stewardship, promoting sustainable practices, and inspiring a sense of responsibility for the well-being of the Earth.
  3. All-Welcome: Embracing diversity in all its forms, the festival values inclusivity as a fundamental principle, creating a welcoming space for people and families. Welcoming people of all ages, genders, sexual preferences, backgrounds, interests and financial position.
  4. Change: At the core of the festival's values is the belief in the potential for positive change. Whether on an individual or collective level, the event aims to inspire attendees to become agents of positive transformation in their lives and communities.
  5. Energetic Exchange: We uphold the principle of fair and reciprocal energetic exchange, ensuring that everyone involved, including festival-goers, performers, facilitators, volunteers and organisers all receive value, fostering an environment of appreciation and gratitude.

Flourish Sanctuary exists primarily to serve the people of our community. To date, we have proudly not taken any government grants or corporate money and are totally independently funded. Everybody who works on the property is an unpaid volunteer apart from our cleaner, but they do get to live on this sacred land. Black Sheep Farm and Compassion Temple are operated by volunteers of Flourish Sanctuary. Our purpose is people, not profits. If you can make a donation to support our purpose then please click here.

We believe this world is for everyone regardless of spiritual beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity or species. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather, the Bundjalung people, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water, and community, and we support their ongoing efforts towards self-determination and sovereignty.
