Why and What?

Our Story

Our community was started after our founder, Jagad, had a spiritual awakening after a sweat lodge. Jagad had always been interested in spirituality and religions, but it wasn't until he attended the sweat lodge ceremony that he experienced a profound awakening and saw the truth of all heart felt religions and spiritual practices.

After the sweat lodge Jagad spent months in deep reflection and meditation, waiting for guidance. During this time, Jagad received a vision of a community where people lived in harmony with nature and with each other, supporting each other in their spiritual growth and development. He wrote down the guidance he received, and these writings became the seed from which Flourish Sanctuary grew, including its mission, values, and goals. With the help of some close friends who shared his vision, Jagad began to look for land. After an appropriate site was found, the land was secured and the existing infrastructure was expanded.

As time went by other people who were interested in living in the sanctuary and supporting its mission joined. Over time, the sanctuary grew and flourished, attracting people from all over the world who were seeking a spiritual community where they could live in harmony with nature and each other. Jagad continues to offer guidance and support to those who seek it, while supporting our vibrant community.

Our Vision

Our vision is a new way of being based on love, compassion, harmony, wisdom, and interconnectedness. We believe that this is possible, and that it begins with each person’s inner transformation. We envision a world where all beings are honoured and respected, where diversity is celebrated and expressed, and where all forms of life are protected and sustained. We see a world where compassion, wisdom, ethics, and fairness guide all actions, and where all people have access to the resources they need to thrive. We are a community of individuals committed to living in alignment with these values and to serving as agents of positive change in the world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to cultivate a new paradigm of consciousness and create a world based on love, harmony, and interconnectedness. We believe that by fostering inner transformation, we collectively create a more sustainable and enjoyable world for all beings. Through our daily lives, spiritual practices, community projects, and networking. We aim to inspire and empower individuals and communities to live in alignment with their highest values and to become agents of positive change in the world and thereby conscious community.

1,200 Year Plan

In 1,200 years, we are no longer just a sanctuary for humans. We have expanded beyond a physical location to be a safe gathering place for beings of all types, races and cultures. Together we hold a spirit of unity and compassion. We use soul technologies like music, art, and dance to honour all expressions of life with awareness, acceptance, and celebration for diversity across all life forms and their expression. We understand that each being has its own unique path and a positive purpose, and we have become a safe place that allows for the full exploration and expression of that purpose.

We serve as a hub for intergalactic wisdom exchange, where beings from all corners of the universe can circle together to share wisdom, knowledge, and experiences. Our library has trans-morphed into a repository of wisdom from of all the civilizations that have visited us. We know that the wisdom of the past, present, and future is an essential part of our journey, and we are committed to preserving, growing, and sharing this wisdom with all earnest seekers.

Our community is a living demonstration of this wisdom. Through our commitment to timeless wisdom practices like yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic medicine and others that are currently forgotten we’ve demonstrated that a better world is possible by coming together with love, compassion, and a shared vision for the future.  As part of our processes of co-creation and collaboration we pioneered and practice a new system of exchange that is based on co-operative service creating abundance rather than welfare or wealth accumulation. This symbiotic system is designed to ensure that everyone's needs are met, and that no being is left behind.

Through our spiritual practices we have transcended and embraced the limitations of the physical world to deeply connect with the universal consciousness. Our practices have spread across Earth’s society, leading to a planet where awakenings, compassion, empathy, and understanding are deeply valued and once again the norm. This has restored humanity to being Earth’s custodians and brought them back to living in deep reverence for nature and its inhabitants. The Earth itself demonstrates that by coming together, all beings live in a harmonious and interconnected system. The flow on is a world where harmonious living systems and pristine planets are the norm. This leads to longer lifespans and greater joy, love, fulfilment, purpose, and flourishing.

We continue to create a better world, expanding our vision beyond what is imaginable today, working together with all beings to co-create a reality beyond our most expansive dreams.

Flourish Sanctuary exists primarily to serve the people of our community. To date, we have proudly not taken any government grants or corporate money and are totally independently funded. Everybody who works on the property is an unpaid volunteer apart from our cleaner, but they do get to live on this sacred land. Black Sheep Farm and Compassion Temple are operated by volunteers of Flourish Sanctuary. Our purpose is people, not profits. If you can make a donation to support our purpose then please click here.

We believe this world is for everyone regardless of spiritual beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity or species. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather, the Bundjalung people, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water, and community, and we support their ongoing efforts towards self-determination and sovereignty.
